Police searching for âarmed and dangerousâ man in southeast Alabama
A search is underway for a man police deem armed and dangerous after they say he threatened to shoot officers and several victims early Friday morning in southeast Alabama.
Enterprise police officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Boll Weevil Circle around 4:06 a.m. Monday on a call of a disorderly person, the department said Friday afternoon.
Officers found two males fighting by the home when the suspect ran into the home and threatened the officers and victims with a gun.
Police were able to get the victim and two other people inside the home out of the house as officers at the scene waited for backup.
The department believes the suspect, identified as Shannon Scott Anthony, barricaded himself in the home.
When the house was cleared for officers to move in around 9:30 a.m. Friday, the suspect had fled the home, police said.
Tracking dogs from the Alabama Department of Corrections are being used in the search for Anthony, whom police said should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anthony is wanted on charges of second-degree burglary, certain persons forbidden to possess firearms and two counts of menacing, police said.
Anyone who spots Anthony was asked to immediately call law enforcement.
